"America's Response to the Migrant Crisis" is intended to raise awareness of the current migrant crisis, as thousands of refugees flee the Middle East searching for a better life in Europe.
I wanted this piece to show the absurdity of American priorities with regards to which news stories get covered. At the time I created this work, American news feeds were flooded with the Starbucks Red Cup "scandal." I was shocked that news organizations felt that this story was considered important enough to dedicate coverage time to it, time that could have been given to discussing the growing Crisis.
